Alternatives to Braces
Braces are good for improving the position of teeth, especially when younger and the bone around the teeth is less dense and not "set" fully yet.
However, the Cosmetics of a Smile don't just depend upon the position of teeth, but their shape and colour too - it's a combination of effects!
Thus if you don't want to wear Braces like those featured below or want a quicker result or even other Cosmetic treatments after orthodontics, then there are additional alternatives to consider, from Tooth Whitening to Veneers and Crowns. Also remember the timescales involved - it is not uncommon to have to wear fixed Braces like those below, for greater than 12 months and in some cases for over 2 years - are you prepared for that?
If suitable, sometimes Toothwhitening alone or in combination with other options, such as veneers or crowns or very thin Veneers known as Lumineers, can give a sufficient cosmetic improvement in as little as 2-4 weeks!

If Braces are not the complete answer for you, then there are many types of dental work that might work as an alternative to orthodontic treatment, such as:
Bleaching
Veneers
Crowns
Bridges
Bonding
Implants

Crooked Canine fixed in only 2 weeks -->
Leaving your teeth as they are is another an option, but braces are usually most effective in your childhood years. In adult years, teeth are prone to "rebound", where the natural tendency is for teeth to drift back to their original positions when the braces are stopped being worn. This could lead to having to wear a removable retainer appliance for years, or have something glued or fixed into your mouth long-term.
Below is another example of an Adult who didn't want the bracework offered, or the retention involved, so we did a treatment that was completed on his front teeth in only 2 weeks:
